A thief is a thief is a thief.  Some use their own firearm or strong-arm tactics--thus endangering themselves to ighteous retribution.  Others, however, vote for government officials to do the stealing for them...with government firearms and strong-arm tactics, thereby cloaking the theft in the robes of "the common good". There is no discernible difference between the two.
